About The Trail

One of Moab's most iconic trails that takes you through technical rock crawling, scenic overlooks, and obstacles that will for sure leave lasting impressions. Riders from beginner to moderate skill will find this trail has everything and more as there are bypass to major obstacles and various landmarks that make it worth the ride.

Road surfaces are rutted, rocky and sandy with steps not exceeding 14″, with considerable slickrock surfaces. Water not exceeding 12″ with some mud possible. Good vehicle approach and departure angles are helpful. Tall tires (30″ plus) recommended. Trailering to this trailhead is required.

Directions To Meet Your Guide

Go south on Main Street (HWY 191). Turn left onto 300 South. Continue east and turn right on Fourth East Street. Continue south and turn right onto South Mill Creek Drive. Continue to the 3 way stop sign and continue straight onto Sand Flats Rd. Continue up the Hill to the parking lot on your right, 38.57136, -109.52589.

Parking

There is parking on the right about 1/4 mile prior to the National Park Pay Booth entrance. You will meet your guide at this lot, coordinates 38.57136, -109.52589. There is no parking at the trail head. Attendees are strongly encouraged to trailer to the parking lot.
